Animal Liberation by Peter Singer seems an obvious choice. Others may be able to suggest different books which have been influential on the concept of Animal Rights.

'The Earth Party' George Marshall

'Climate change seems to have replaced nuclear holocaust as the Armageddon of choice in literature and film. George Marshall's novel is more interesting than most - especially to members of the Green Party - as it focuses on the debate as to how to keep society going in the case of such an event and what kind of political credo and structure is needed.'

Green World review,August 2009

Pen Press ISBN:978-1906710118 £8.99

Pen Press £8

I like your 100 best green bloggers feature- How about a 100 best local Green Party websites feature too? I think we should do more to support and encourage all those webmasters out there who are busy trying to get our message across to the voters.

Dear Bob, Douglas and Candy. Thanks for your comments. I plan to do an edit at the weekend, which may involve looking at a new template, as the comments are a bit "grey on grey"! Will add some sub-sections under "Environmental Issues" and perhaps a new section "Social Issues", with sub- headings.
Thanks to all for suggestions so far, I will start adding books and links at the next edit also. It would be useful for us, if people wish to suggest a book or text that we might be unfamiliar with, if you gave a brief description or link to a fair review!

Seems a bit of a bias toward political theory rather than what we actually /do/. On that note I support Sven's call for an Economics section and sections on other issues, i.e. all the collective of knowledge that informs our policies.

Paul - great initiative! I'll contribute soon. In the meantime can you make the text contrast with the grey/charcoal background? This would make reading the entries a whole lot easier.
